About IT Learning and Development Manager

Ford Motor Company is seeking a passionate expert to craft innovative learning experiences that inspire IT employees to engage, upskill, and excel in their roles. The IT Learning and Development Manager will join a dynamic Learning and Development team that supports the technical learning needs of our organization. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape best-in-class software delivery at Ford.

As a member of our IT Learning Development team, you will play a crucial role in defining, developing, and maintaining the technical skills of our diverse workforce to deliver world-class software. You will collaborate with executive leaders and stakeholders from across the global IT organization to identify learning needs and design solutions, driving transformative change that aligns with our strategic direction.

Note: This position will support North America IT team.

Strategy: Align various work-streams with the high-level direction provided by the global senior IT leadership team, contributing to the future skills strategy.

Oversee the end-to-end development of learning programs and experiences designed to prepare IT employees to innovate, build, grow, and optimize the business.

Utilize internal expertise, vendors, and consultants to develop, deliver, and maintain best-in-class technical learning experiences across IT.

Assess current and future technology leadership needs of the organization through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and data analysis.

Deliver innovative solutions that incorporate the latest learning trends.

Establish and regularly report metrics that demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of learning initiatives.

Build strong relationships with Talent, Corporate LD, instructional designers, and key leaders to be recognized as the technical development expert.

Collaborate seamlessly with FBS ITLD to deliver solutions.

Ensure the team follows Agile principles and methodologies to groom and prioritize the backlog according to customer and business needs.

Continuously benchmark practices within Ford and across the industry, updating and improving our practices to elevate IT execution to the next level.

Bachelor’s Degree

5-10 years of experience in designing and delivering learning experiences.

Demonstrated ability to assess critical learning needs within an organization.

Proven success in consulting with leaders and key stakeholders on learning-related solutions.

Familiarity with the technical skill development landscape, including service providers and vendors.

Ability to manage and motivate peers, employees, and leaders effectively.

Experience with various learning delivery methods, including ILT, vILT, online learning, webcasts, mobile, social, video, and microlearning.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and storytelling skills; capable of communicating information to diverse audiences

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.

Familiarity with modern Learning Experience Platforms such as Oracle LMS, Degreed LXP

Familiar and end-user experience in AI, LLMs
