  In this position...

  This is an Enterprise Technology operation-based role that supports the all-new Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center where the next generation F-Series BEV will be built. This is an outstanding opportunity to be a member of the Site IT team and assist in redefining and reimagining how site IT supports manufacturing for the future of Ford's electrification revolution.

  As a member of the Plant IT team, you will be hands on assisting the plant in producing this very exciting and brand-new platform of vehicles for the NA consumer market. As part of the job responsibilities, you will interface and support IT across a broad host of Infrastructure & Applications that the plant uses to produce these exhilarating vehicles.

  You will lend your knowledge and experiences to support process improvement efforts toward flexible and lean manufacturing, enabling Factory of Tomorrow (e.g., IIOT, Software-defined networks, next-generation error proofing, digital broadcast, and various mobility solutions)

  What you'll do...

  The successful candidate will be working with a local team to provide support that includes technical troubleshooting, data analysis & problem resolution for the applications & infrastructure on the plant floor and lead various efforts to ensure all responsible manufacturing applications meet Ford's productivity goals. You will also interface daily with all business departments in the plant, from assembly and industrial controls to quality and manufacturing / MP&L.

  While the plant is being built, you will be transitioning between Dearborn MI and Stanton TN as required by the program timing and Op Comm engagements. Expectations are that you will eventually be resident in the greater Stanton/Memphis area by year end 2023. Pre-production builds will begin in early 2025 with full production late 2025. During this time, you will be able to:

  • Support a multi-shift operation in launch mode of a greenfield manufacturing plant

  • Work flexible hours and rotating schedule to support business processes (days, nights and or weekends/holidays)

  • Provide technical support (Manufacturing IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, end-user-productivity tools) to plant business customers throughout the manufacturing plant

  • Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts

  • Support Plant Floor Systems / PDO teams in resolving incidents; Provide triage and business continuity plans, support escalations, provide hands and feet to support teams and other global teams (i.e. DBA, Server Operations, Ops Control, Network Operations)

  • Focus on the integration / long term maintenance of applications and hardware

  • Assist site IT manager with managing assignments and workload

  • Develop, maintain, and share, accurate support documentation

  • Support local network equipment in a Cisco based environment

  • Support local servers across both physical and virtual environments in a Windows and Linux based ecosystem

  • Support FOT deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIIOT, iOS, software-defined network, mobile, and Android based equipment.

  You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering

  • 2+ years of IT experience

  • Ability to support a multi-shift, 24x7 operation

  Even better, you may have...

  • Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Business Processes (Powertrain, Vehicle Operations)

  • Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure and manufacturing applications

  • Self-starter with ability to manage through difficult situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with plant management and hourly staff

  • Ability to proactively manage critical application availability in a production environment

  • Politically savvy navigating the organization to achieve outcomes

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities

  • Resourceful and creative
