Role

The Creative Audio Organization is a centralized team that touches nearly every product produced, making our team integral to the company. We collaborate with product and creative teams to design audio for video, post-production audio, final mixing and mastering, audio field recording, sound effects, and large-scale content projects across a wide range of software and hardware, including but not limited to your phone, glasses, VR headsets, and a mix of AR/MR across these devices. We're a team of over 60 audio experts who design the experiences that connect people through the power of sound.

The Creative Audio team is looking for an experienced UI/UX Sound Designer to join us. As a UI/UX Sound Designer, you must have a passion for sound and a demonstrated history of creating interactive and immersive product sonic experiences. You must have an understanding of interaction sound design and how it impacts people when they use products. Candidates must also have the ability to collaborate closely with other team members and product teams, as well as provide creative feedback. Strong communication skills are required.

Must sit out of Seattle, Fremont, or Burlingame.

Responsibilities

Create world-class sound design for interactive experiences.

Collaborate closely with all partners to determine the scope of work, planning, and execution of sound design and implementation.

Gain a deep understanding of product voice in order to maintain quality and leverage existing content for product consistency and efficiency.

Prepping and testing (dogfooding) for implementation accuracy as well as collaborating with internal and external team members to address bugs and optimize sounds in the product.

Coordinating with engineering on implementation after design is ready.

Prepare comparative research analysis during discovery.

Creating video captures for design and sizzle reels.

Create audits of existing experiences to identify improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years creating UX sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, and non-traditional or immersive environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Solid skills in Pro Tools and/or other professional DAWs.

Experience with UI/UX Sound Design and its effects on people.

Able to manage, scope, and communicate project milestones and deliverables.

Experience creating original sound design for high-profile products.

Experience testing implementation of sounds.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Mobile audio experience.

Experience in designing audio for AR and VR experiences.

Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal).

AR audio experience with AR design tools (Spark, Snap Studio).

Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD).

Knowledge of acoustics, equipment setups, and calibration.

Ability to mix in a variety of formats, including spatial audio.

Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc.).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
