About Intelligence Specialist (Operations)

  Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 704th Military Intelligence Brigade, 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion Foundry Detachment Fort Cavazos Texas. Responsibilities Serves as the primary Cryptologic Training Officer representing INSCOM and the Army Cryptologic Operations (ACO) with responsibilities for coordinating training opportunities that have impact on Army, INSCOM and Army Tactical Intelligence units. Uses technical knowledge of the Army's Tactical collection systems capabilities in concert with Defense and National Agency operations, mission, policy, structure, doctrine to provide guidance, to facilitate the Army's Modular Forces' involvement. Represents locally assigned Tactical Units at high-level forums, working groups and committees which review, coordinate, and approve Tactical Overwatch mission/training requirements, concepts and activities for implementation by Tactical Forces. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of experience in two or more of the following: Cryptologic and/or Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) Operations, conducting intelligence training, leading and/or directing a team of intelligence professionals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Teaching Others Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. This is an Intelligence Career Field 35 position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Recruitment, Retention, and/or Relocation incentives may be authorized if it is determined to be in the best interest of the Government.
