At Maxar Space, our products are vast: from our World View Legion(WVL) platform for earth observation, to the Power and PropulsionElement (PPE) supporting NASA's Artemis Program return to the Moon, toour highly reliable 1300/Legion class platform for communicationsapplications.
We are now also designing the next generation of earth imaging satellites andproliferated LEO constellations. Maxar is currently seeking an experiencedSystems Engineering Integration and TestDeputy Lead with broad and deep SEITexpertise for Maxar's World View Legion program, an agile, high-accuracyimaging mission and product line. Particular expertise is required inspace-based imaging systems with experience in system integration, test,verification and validation.
As a program Deputy SEIT - Lead, you would apply your systems integrationand test expertise to a complex space-based imaging program to ensure systemperformance is compliant to contract requirements. You would then lead thesystems engineering team during the verification campaign, coordinate withcustomers to ensure alignment to contractually required product deliveries anddocumentation, and provide general systems engineering guidance to the testtea
We are currently seeking candidates with broad space based imaging engineeringbackgrounds in mission planning, operations, imaging technologies andtechniques, along with a strong foundation in Command & Data HandlingSystems (C&DH), Software Systems,Guidance/Navigation/Controls, Propulsion, Power Systems, andRF/Communication SThis role will be performed in our Palo Alto, California or ourWestminster, Colorado facility.
Specifically, you will be responsible for participating in or leading teamsto oversee the following:
Provide support to the WVL SEIT Lead for day-to-day team managementSupport system requirements decomposition & flow-down activity to ensuretestabilityCollaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary engineering teamsReview and approve program verification methodologyEnsure requirement verification method and approach is in sync with subsequentlevelsDevelop and maintain overall verification plan and schedule for complex spacesystemsLead a team responsible for planning and executing all verification activitiesincluding system & software integration and verificationEnsure all stakeholders are informed and adhere to program contractualrequirements related to integration and verification activities anddeliverablesOversee spacecraft testing and review all test resultsPerform necessary troubleshooting for all spacecraft anomaliesEnsure on-time delivery of all test artifacts to the customerPerform long term planning (future test phases), and new program development.Update verification and validation processes in support of test engineeringCreate scorecards to measure progress on verification activities
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizenBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering,physics, or related field. Four additional years of experience may besubstituted for a degreeMinimum of 8 years of systems engineering experience. A master's degree willcount toward two years of experience.Experience with NASA, DoD or FAA Program Management, SoftwareEngineering, or Systems Engineering standardsExperience in space based imaging technologies and mission operations.Systems Engineering experience across multiple interacting hardware andsoftware subsystemsExcellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skillsApplicants should have engineering, manufacturing, software, and testingbackground experienceStrong systems engineering background including familiarity with requirementsdefinition and requirements testabilityExperience with requirements management systems (i.e. DOORS, JAMA, etc.)Experience providing technical leade ship, direction, and mentoring toother engineering staff to achieve defined outcomesPrior leadership experience in Systems Integration and Testing, SystemVerification, or Software Verification on a large-scale programDemonstrated ability to create schedules, cost estimates, and respond to RFPsProficiency in MSOffice Suite including Teams, Project, and VisioUnderstanding of spacecraft design and product life cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree or PhD in a special field of Engineering or ScienceExperience with satellites and satellite industry, including governmentcivil or defense and intelligence programsExperience with software development standards and development methodologiesFamiliarity with embedded flight code designExperience in agile development methodologiesExpert with extensive practical and theoretical experience in systemsmodeling, simulation, system architecturesPrevious experience in Cost Account Management (CAM) or Earned ValueManagement System (EVMS)
