This is a Service Contract (SCA) position
Responsibilities:
The Security Monitor will be assigned to various locations within the Northern Virginia area and will be responsible for the security and integrity of the assigned facilities and also perform the following duties:
•Closely observing activates of individuals working and/or visiting the customer facilities.
•Provide a safe and secure environment in facilities where assigned.
•Secure and survey classified working areas and any unsecured confidential documents.
•Remain with the individual everywhere they go.
•All requirements will have the Security Monitor standing at an assigned post or moving with the contractor throughout the facility.
•All requirements will have the Security Monitor standing or walking 80% to 90% of each shift.
•Some requirements may have the Security Monitor working outdoors.
•Must maintain line of sight at times while on post or escorting.
•Ensure subjects do not enter any areas where they are not authorized, nor where they do not have a valid reason for entering.
Qualifications:
•United States Citizenship
•Ability to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance
•High School diploma or equivalent.
•Ability to walk and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
•Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods, 2 or more hours at a time.
•Possess the visual acuity to observe the activities of other individuals from a moderate distance. This position requires visual observation of personnel working or visiting customer facilities.
•Successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination; all offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of this requirement.
•Must successfully complete DCJS training within 90 days of being hired.
•Good customer service skills.
•Good oral and written communications skills
•Must have reliable transportation
Available Shifts:
Full time days (Must be available M-F to work between 5am-4pm; at least 5 days per week)
Full time overnights (Must be available M-F to work between 4pm-5am; at least 5 overnights per week)
