Installer
Reports To: ForemanPosition Status: Full Time Year Round
Date: January 18, 2024FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: The Installer participates in the preparation andinstallation of resinous and troweled floor systems. This is an entrylevel position where the team member will gain knowledge through on thejob training with other members of the team. The Installer is energetic,dynamic, and provides the highest level of customer service.
Essential Functions:
Maintains a safe and professional work environment and ensurescompliance with OSHA regulations
Participates in a variety of daily tasks, including:
Loading the correct materials and sundries for the project
Surface preparation (grinding, shot blasting)
Surface repair (mixing and troweling of repair materials)
Proper mixing and installation of floor coatings using a squeegee,roller and paint brushes, or other specialized tools
Maintains excellent rapport with the client and/or general contractor
Focuses on installation accuracy and timing to ensure the schedule ismet
Maintains assigned equipment, including machinery, vehicles and trailers
Qualifications:
OSHA 10 (minimum) Training and Certification (will provide training ifneeded)
Ability to wear a respirator and pass FIT Certification
Professional demeanor and appearance
A valid drivers license with clean driving record
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and dividenumbers and fractions to determine proper mixing ratios
Ability to work with chemicals, read and understand their properties andapplication methods
Knowledge of basic construction techniques, concrete preparation &repair
Self-motivation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical and Mental Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing, bending and kneeling
Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environmentalconditions (32F to 85F)
Ability to operate electrical equipment, including hand and stand upgrinders, generators, drills, polishers and sanders
Ability to lift 50 lb. material bags
Daily travel within Vermont and Northern New York
Overnight travel is sometimes required with adequate notice
Work Environment: Work is performed on residential and commercialproject sites. Some workshop activites are required (i.e. Tool cleaning,tool repair, kitting materials for upcoming projects)
