DescriptionThe West Virginia University Research Corporation's Research Office of Program Management is accepting applications for a Program Manager.About the OpportunityThis position is responsible to collaborate with Principle Investigators on projects for planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluating on assigned projects according to timelines, budgets, and specifications. Overseeing project teams, reporting to the project sponsor, and ensuring quality control throughout the projects life cycles are central to this position.This position provides project, as well as direct internal and external client support services. Responds to inquiries and independently resolves matters of low to moderate complexity. Responsibilities require some judgment, resourcefulness, and originality, but diverse guides and precedents are usually available to apply or adapt to the circumstances. WVU Research Corporation offers a comprehensive benefits package with a variety of options to suit your needs including:13 paid holidays ()PTO403(b) retirement savings with a fully vested 3% employee contribution match, (Employees have the option of contributing an additional 1-3% of their earnings to the plan, which is also matched by the WVURC)A range ofDependent Education ScholarshipWVU PerksAnd More!!What you'll do:Manages the project development from initiation to closure.Works with project sponsors and stakeholders to create scope, goals, deliverables, budget and schedule.Completes the work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task.Provides a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed.Creates a Project Management Plan.Clearly communicates expectations to team members and stakeholders.Acts as a mediator between stakeholders and team members.Logs and resolves issues, problem solving throughout the project life cycle.Effectively manages project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved through the Project Change Request process and when necessary creates Rough order of Magnitude (ROM) documentation.Develops tools and best practices for project management execution.Tracks and reports on project milestones and deliverables and provides status reports to sponsor with approval of PI copying all pertinent stakeholders.Leads, coaches, and motivates project team members on a continual, pro-active basis.Facilitates technical Lessons Learned and performs project management Lessons learned.Performs a post-project evaluation against the base line to determine how well results were achieved and in collaboration with the PI, completes the Final Report.Ensures all project documents are safely archived for project close out.Facilitates Project Close-out meeting and ensures all necessary processes are completed for close out at the University.QualificationsBachelor's degree with a preferred focus in Project Management, Public Administration, Business, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages.Demonstrated leadership in...
