Job Description:Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide HSE technical expertise on manufacturing systems, process design and operating proceduresWork with management team to develop safety & health leadership expectations for Managers, Supervisors & Team Leads. Support the development of safety, technical, and operational TM's to ensure they understand their role and requirements for a strong safety cultureDevelop and coach the site HSE team to encourage growth within the HSE fieldDevelop the site strategy to continuously improve Safety, Heathy and Environmental performanceAssess and identify the presence of health, safety and environmental concerns in the workplace and make recommendations to control or eliminate those concernsEstablish operational goals to drive HSE improvementsPerform analysis of workplace HSE trends to measure and monitor performance metrics plus ensure accuracy of injury (OSHA) reporting and Terex HSE scorecardsInvestigate incidents to determine the cause and recommend changes to work practices or equipment to minimize or eliminate future safety risksAnalyzes and evaluates current safety programs, policies, and practices to ensure they meet all local, state, and national regulatory RequirementsEvaluate the operations, equipment and practices for HSE regulatory compliance and with company standardsEstablish safety monitoring and occupational health monitoring programs to ensure all activities meet established requirements.Establish and maintain plant records for occupational and environmental health and safety including documentation on training and certificationsConduct and coordinate HSE training including the development of specific training for the workplace concerns based on assessment of site operation and incident trendsPerforms periodic safety inspections and compliance auditsConducts evaluations of exposure to noise, particles, gases, fumes etc. and recommend measures to ensure employee protectionGuide HSE Team Members to focus on long term sustainable HSE improvementsCommunicate HSE information and provide expertise to operations, government representatives and the general public on issues concerning health, environmental performance and workplace safetyRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree, or 5-10 years of related work experience.Three or more years of relevant professional experience working in the field of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and/or Environmental including experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing, industrial or related operations environmentExperience with industrial manufacturing safety - LOTO (Lockout Tagout), Cranes/Hoists, PIT, and Machine Guarding & SafetyKnowledge of local, state, and federal Health and Safety regulations to ensure compliancePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental health or equivalentMinimum of 8 years work experience in Environmental and Safety operationsMinimum of 5 years supervisory experienceThorough regulatory knowledge (thorough knowledge of environmental laws, health & safety regulations) - Preferably WA regulationsExperience with behavior based safety and ergonomics preferredProject management experienceCSP (Certified Safety Professional) - helpful but not requiredEducation or training in OSHT, equivalent or formal HSE degree program preferredSolid computer skills, including MS Office Suite ProductsExcellent oral and written communication skills, diplomacy, and interpersonal skillsThe compensation range for this position is $122K - $150K annually.
