The HR Generalist II takes a proactive approach and partners with leaders to create an environment of highly engaged, career focused internal Owners that take pride in consistently meeting and exceeding Northern’s established goals. Assumes responsibility for efficiently and effectively completing assigned human resource functions by;Assists hiring Credit Union personnel and ensures all hiring processes are effective and legally compliant.Assists with counseling managers on supervisory concerns including corrective actions and performance appraisals.Monitoring, maintaining and training others on how to use Northern’s talent management system.Assists with OnBoarding program and ensures personnel are well informed of human resource policies and programs.Coordinates the updating of job descriptions. Receives and reviews job descriptions from department managers and ensures information is complete and current.Administers benefits programs. Processes claims resolution and changes of reporting. Communicates related information to employees.Participates in salary surveys. Reviews completed documents for accuracy and adherence to guidelines.Assists in developing and implementing human resource operations plans, policies, procedures, and goals. Recommends improvements as appropriate. Assumes responsibility for the accurate, complete, and timely preparation of records, reports, and other documents consistently demonstrating proficiency across all areas.Maintains and updates employee files. Ensures employee files are complete and in compliance with Credit Union policies and legal regulations.Processes payroll weekly, ensuring all payroll records, including time cards, sick leave, annual leave, overtime, insurance deductions, and tax forms are properly maintained and preserved.Ensures employment and enrollment forms, including W-4s, insurance, retirement, and benefits documents are current and complete.Assists in preparing and reviewing employee benefit review statements.Prepares, reviews, and approves federal and state reports including EEO, OSHA, and Workers’ Compensation documents.Ensures all human resource records are maintained in accordance with established Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and efficient communication and coordination with area personnel and management.Ensures employees are informed of programs and policies through annual auditing.Resolves employee requests, complaints, and problems courteously and promptly. Counsels employees and managers concerning job-related matters.Assists Department personnel. Provides support on training and benefits programs.Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns. Completes required reports accurately and promptly. Attends meetings as required. Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with concentration in Human Resources or other business curriculum and PHR certification required.Two to five years related experience.The job requires solid interpersonal and public relations skills and excellent oral and written communications abilities. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations is essential.Must be well organized and attentive to detail with an ability to coordinate multiple projects and respond to continually changing priorities.Position requires the regular exercise of sound, independent judgment.
