Job Summary
Provide housekeeping service for Administration Building, ForestResource Center, Animal Science Center, dormitory, and student houses atDixon Springs Agricultural Center (DASAC).
Duties & Responsibilities
Dormitory - change bedding, provide clean towels and supplies. Cleanand disinfect sinks, showers, and toilets. . Do laundry as needed;keep laundry room neat and lint screens clean. Cleans and dustsfurnishings, rooms, hallways, and lavatories. Dust, sweep, anddust-mop floors. Cleans interior mirrors and interior glass. Assistin setting up facilities for meetings and special events, clean upafterwards. Maintain clean kitchen facility, remove old food fromrefrigerator. Turn off lights, lock up buildings and equipment, makeperiodic checks of building, and report items that need repair.Administration Building/Forest Resource Center/Animal ScienceCenter - dust, sweep, and mop all offices, stairs and halls, breakrooms, conference room. Sweep and mop restrooms, keep toilets andsinks cleaned and disinfected. Keep soap, towels, and tissue instock at all times; empty trash cans daily. Wash dishes and cleanout coffee pots in break room daily; keep all walls dusted andcleaned regularly. Keep windows clean, strip and wax tile floors asneeded.Clean and prepare houses for summer camp, dormitory over-flow orlarge groups. Sweep steps and walk-ways regularly. Plant andmaintain flowerbeds, as needed. Maintain supplies, anticipate needsand make purchases as needed. List and report jobs that requireassistance.Perform other related duties as assigned.Additional Physical Demands
To perform the functions of this position, the employee will be requiredto perform work both within an office and outside in the communitiesthat are served, and must have the capability to travel from onelocation to the other in a timely fashion. Employee is responsible forsecuring personal transportation. A valid driver\'s license ispreferred. Some work will be required during evenings and/or weekends.When working, the employee may be exposed to a variety of environmentalfactors to include, but not limited to, hot or cold weather, exposure tonoise and allergens, and uneven ground. In performing the functions ofthis position, the employee may be subjected to various mental andphysical demands as well to include, but not limited to, independentlytraveling to and performing work at different locations, lifting andmoving items that may occasionally weigh up to forty (40) pounds andfrequentl weigh up to twenty (20) pounds, and twisting, pushing andpulling movements. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The employee must possess the ability to listen and followdirections. Must have sound judgment as to when to notify properpersonnel in matters of fire, theft, and illegal entry. Must be ableto perform housekeeping services and security measures for thefacilities at Dixon Springs.Appointment Information
This is a 60% part-time Civil Service 2133 - Housekeeper position,appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon aspossible. Salary is \$16.52/hour.
