Housekeepers begin work at 9:00 am each day. Hours for this position are varied and depend upon the needs of the motel but, must be able to and prepared to work up to 8 hours each day if needed and work overtime if necessary.
Primary duties include:
Report to work regularly and on time. Follow directions written and verbal.
Use time clock to punch in and out.
Retrieve the assignment chart.
Strip and clear vacant dirty rooms.
Remove soiled linens and towels and transport to laundry, remove trash.
Remake beds with fresh clean linens, place clean fresh towels in towel rack.
Clean bathroom shower, tub, toilet and floor and replenish used amenities such as soap, shampoo/conditioner.
Clean vanity sink and mirrors.
Dust ledges, furniture and fixtures.
Clean mini fridge and microwave, replenish coffee supplies and cups.
Open and dust out all drawers, clean windows, A/C units and filters, sweep, mop and vacuum.
Replace burned out light bulbs in lamps and vanity. Make sure all appliances are plugged in and functioning. Report any maintenance issues.
Lost and found items are turned in by the end of every day to the front desk and logged into the Lost and Found book.
At the end of the day when all assigned rooms have been done and marked as clean, housekeepers are responsible for vacuuming hallways, restocking the housekeeping carts with supplies and refilling cleaning chemical bottles, taking out trash and bringing dirty cleaning rags down to the laundry room.
Physical requirements:
Ability to stand and walk the entire shift.
Ability to climb up and down stairs.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently. Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with arms, grasp using hands and fingers.
Ability to move at a steady pace throughout the day to ensure rooms are getting done within the allotted time.
General Requirements:

Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet time allotment.
Attend required meetings and trainings.
Maintain personal appearance and grooming which includes wearing proper uniform and name tag.
