About Head of Governance Risk and Controls

  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent practical experience.

  10 years of experience working in an audit or compliance role, designing and testing controls and recommending process and controls improvements.

  Experience in people management. Preferred qualifications: CPA/CIA, Audit, Legal, or other related certification.

  Experience in identifying and assessing risks and designing and testing controls.

  Experience executing on large complex projects and initiatives on time and with quality.

  Experience influencing horizontally across multiple stakeholder groups.

  Experience delivering direction and tone from the top, coaching, then equipping and empowering teams within and outside of the immediate reporting chain.

  Excellent communication skills, with ability to process, aggregate, and summarize succinctly.

  gTech's Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) team enables product areas to effectively and efficiently scale their extended workforce operations while managing risk. We enable our businesses to make informed decisions to put the right talent in the right locations. Our partnership with teams across Google aims to provide an excellent user experience and minimizes administrative burden throughout the extended workforce process. We assist with workforce planning and strategy, and provide tools to support product areas in managing their extended workforce infrastructure. We strike a balance between optimizing engagements and making sure policies and guidelines are followed.

  The Risk and Compliance (R&C) team within xWS is responsible for ensuring that Google complies with all laws and regulations applicable to its contingent workforce globally. The team does this by identifying and assessing risks, setting requirements, designing and assessing controls, ensuring governance, and conducting testing and auditing. R&C equips, enables, and empowers Googlers to achieve success while protecting Google's brand and reputation. The team is a second line of defense at Google, working with other teams to ensure that Google is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

  Google's business relies on the support of its extended workforce, which includes temps, vendors, and independent contractors. The Risk and Compliance (R&C) team is responsible for enabling this workforce while monitoring the impact on Google's culture and minimizing risks.

  Responsibilities

  Identify and assess risks in the contingent workforce space including operational, legal, reputational, cultural, and financial risks.

  Develop and execute a plan to effectively assess risk impact and design of controls which includes the objective, scope, approach, budgets, and timelines.

  Develop sound and balanced recommendations and guidance to improve process and controls in partnership with management and risk partners. Monitor and validate completion of business mitigation plans.

  Effectively collaborate, communicate, educate, and influence policy, process, and control owners throughout Google and at different levels to improve process and controls to mitigate risks.

  Prepare reports to document the scope, procedures, findings, and recommendations of the work performed.
