  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive haul truck in quarry, yard and other areas as needed

  • Ensure haul truck is properly maintained (oil level, transmission oil, water, hydraulic oil, etc.)

  • Grease haul truck daily

  • Inspect haul truck daily for safety and mechanical problems and fill out pre-shift and post shift inspection sheet

  • Assist with maintenance on plants and heavy equipment as needed

  • Run loader to feed plants as needed

  • Operate water truck on roads as needed

  • Perform light maintenance, to include shoveling, on plants as needed

  • All other duties as assigned

  Qualifications

  • Demonstrable ability to perform manual labor in weather extremes (shoveling, lifting, moving materials)

  • Experience driving large trucks or farm trucks

  • Heavy equipment operator skills a plus

  • Excellent communication and team oriented skills

  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended hours

  • Ability to work in a dusty work environment

  • Must be able to climb onto and up and down a truck several times a day.

  • Must be able to sit in a truck and operate for several hours without stopping.

  • Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.

  • Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is required to sit at times for long periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
