The Startup Banking Life Sciences and Healthcare team is part of J.P. Morgan's Commercial Bank in its Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries group. In this role you will be the focal point of client, partner acquisition and ongoing relationships with the world's most innovative companies. We work both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the entire firm to our clients. As a Vice President, you will be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships within Startup Banking Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Job Responsibilities
Ability to build a brand within your market that represents Startup Banking Life Sciences and Healthcare as the "Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most diverse clients"
Developing new business in your market by acquiring new relationships, deepening existing relationships by delivering the entire Firm, and leading internal strategic discussions across all our solutions and business units
Relentless focus on seeking out the best and most diverse founders, incubator, accelerators and powering innovation by leveraging a referral network built through business activities and relationship development
Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset balanced with the ability to manage risk (credit, operational, and reputational) appropriately
Passionate about innovation, the startup eco-system and entrepreneurship. Leading to a desire to stay up to date with industry trends and have the ability to attend conferences to identify opportunities for innovation and build strategic partnerships with the ecosystem
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
5+ years of related experience
Background in life sciences or healthcare
Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
Excellent sales management and business development skills
Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
Self-directed, team player, proactive, and creative; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
MBA, MS or PhD degree and formal credit training preferred
Have a strong network of founders, investors, key leaders in Life Sciences and Healthcare
Strong committed team player, looking to add to a national team of likeminded, passionate Innovation Economy bankers
Strong verbal, written communications skills with the ability to collaborate and manage
Willing to be FINRA licensed (SIE, Series 79, Series 63)
