Job Title: Grow/Finish Field Manager
Department/Location of Position: Iowa—Northeast Iowa servicing locations in the Manchester, Cedar Falls and Ames & Marshalltown area.
Summary of Position : This Field Manager Position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problem areas and provide solutions for improving production. A Field manager manages 20 producer sites consisting of 50,000-75,000 spaces. You will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports. You will work with your Regional Production Manager and veterinarian to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability. Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing market hog production on their farm. In addition, the service person/field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals.
Essential Functions:

80% - Producer training, troubleshooting, health management and cost management on farms. Auditing facility, Animal Welfare and environmental compliance and work to help producer meet compliance by offering solutions
20% - Contract administration duties, pay requests, med/vet ordering, and production meetings
Coaching, training, and developing new farm managers
Animal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutions
Med/vet supply ordering
Bio-Security compliance and action planning
Assists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and labor
Maintains accurate number integrity for record keeping
Makes recommendations for operational improvements
Complete all necessary testing requirements for health/biosecurity
Any other duties assigned by the Regional Production Manager

Job Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in related field or 5 years’ equivalent experience in pork production
Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
Occasional overnight travel - 15%
Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goals
Possess Problem Solving Techniques
Demonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operations
Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs
Working Conditions:
Ability to work with all office equipment is required.
Ability to travel regularly, including overnight as required.
Animal confinement conditions
Extended hours are required as needed.
