Job Summary Responsible for the care and maintenance of all companygrounds, including lawns, planting areas, parking areas, lawn irrigationsystems and all grounds equipment. Assists with interior and exteriorbuilding maintenance as directed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities \Education: High School Diploma or Technical or specialized knowledge orequivalent, related experience. \ Experience: 0 - 1 years or HighSchool equivalent plus 5 - 7 years. \ Solid understanding of generaland technical parts of the job. Working knowledge in field, able to workindependently. \ Decision Making: Follows regular, detailed standardsand instructions. Applies clearly defined guidelines and procedures inmaking timely decisions, given the necessary information \ SupervisionReceived: Works under general supervision. Typically receives generalguidance except for the most complex and or high impact projects whereadditional instructions may be warranted. \ Leadership: Works as anindividual contributor. May participate in training less experiencedstaff. \ Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Appliesextensive specialized knowledge to help solve a wide range of complexproblems requiring independent thinking with direction. \ ClientContacts: Contacts are typically within own department and occasionallyoutside own organization. Typically involves providing informationrequiring some explanation or interpretation. Additional Knowledge,Skills and Abilities \ Basic PC skills required. \ Basic knowledge ofall lawn and buildings including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, andseasonal clean up of the grounds as well as the basic knowledge of allaspects of building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing,electrical and HVAC with emphasis on telephone and data cabling andinstallations \ Knowledge of small engine repair & general mechanicalability required. \ Assists in coordinating snow removal \ Ensure allmechanical and power equipment and all power and hand tools used in thekeeping of the grounds are maintained in safe and proper working order\ Responsible for the care and maintenance of all planting beds,planters, trees, shrubs and seasonal plantings including fertilizer,insect control and disease control applications, mulch application andweeding. \ Must be able to read and comprehend all instructions andwarnings on machinery and equipment used in everyday tasks. Must be ableto read and comprehend warnings on labels, containers and Safety DataSheets associated with the job. Must be familiar with OSHA requirementspertaining to assigned duties. \ Management has identified thisposition to require essential personnel. In the case of severe weatheror other emergency situations, specific key individuals who are in thisposition will be required to report to work, regardless of the companybeing closed. \ Adheres to Company policies and procedures as outlinedin the Human Resources Policy Guide. \ Follows departmental andfunctional area standards, rules, guidelines, processes and policies asidentified by management.
