  The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing daily technical support of production processes, products, equipment, and materials. Driving continuously improvement of Manufacturing processes across site to achieve the strategic goals of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.. Identify breakthrough activities, resource them appropriately and apply Kaizen activities. Develop a VES culture and team to ensure smooth business growth and management succession.

  In this role, a typical day will look like:

  Analyse and implement innovative improvements in operational performance through Uptime and Performance. Increasing capability, capacity and stability of processes, product, equipment and materials.

  Develop the strategic plan for areas of responsibility.

  Drive “Best Practices” in all areas of responsibility.

  Drive Continuous Improvement by leading the implementation of Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing principles.

  Evaluates in conjunction with EHS new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact.

  Identify and drive change for improvement projects.

  Improve the production flow to achieve quality at source. Ensuring product specification requirements are met and inspection standards are met through concise standard work.

  Monitor departmental budgets and assist in defining annual operating and capital budgets. Has budgetary approval responsibility.

  Participate in, facilitate kaizens to drive improvements.

  Prepare, conduct, and develop the monitoring of evaluation and analysis of problem reports

  Represents the manufacturing area for internal and external quality system audits, directs subject matter experts. Participates in audit preparation, execution and follow up actions.

  Responsible for ensuring compliance with FDA regulations.

  Responsible for establishing and meeting project quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

  Seeks solutions when obstacles arise.

  Solution focused, diagnosing, and implementing permanent solutions to manufacturing issues in a structured problem-solving approach. Championing problem solving through appropriate documentation and knowledge sharing.

  Work with R&D and Business Unit teams on manufacturability, capability, reliability reviews.

  The essential requirements of the job include:

  5-10 years of experience in direct supervisory or facilitation (also experience with cross-functional work groups).

  Knowledge of quality principles and tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, control charts, and other quality methodologies).

  Advanced knowledge of various manufacturing processes required.

  Excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels.

  Strong computer skills (work processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools, etc.).

  Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.

  Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or six-sigma proficient presentation skills.
