GROUNDS CREW Full Time 260 days/8 hrs/day Duties: Maintain shop facilities, records and inventories. Respond to service calls as assigned. Assist building staff and other Anoka-Hennepin building staff with repairs of all types of maintenance, landscaping, athletic fields, outdoor structures, playground structures, and grounds equipment. Snow removal and plowing parking lots. Maintain truck inventory and department tools. Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems and equipment failures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor, Director of Building & Grounds, or designee. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have appropriate drivers license to operate all district grounds vehicles and trailers (valid Class "B" Minnesota driver's license). Ability to drive and operate pickup trucks, dump trucks, trucks with snowplows, trucks with trailers. Ability to operate different types of lawn mowing and trimming equipment. Ability to operate chain saws, paint liners for marking athletic fields, air compressors, and other related grounds maintenance equipment. Ability and experience in the following: sod laying, tree & shrub trimming or removal, snow plowing, weed spraying, lawn fertilizing, and sprinkler system operation, repair and maintenance. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs., to lift, carry, bend as needed. Ability to lift heavy weights over prolonged periods of time. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working on site. Preferred Qualifications: Three years experience in grounds maintenance or related field preferred. Knowledge of turf management and care, grounds equipment repairs and seasonal switch overs preferred. Ability to operate tractors & skid loaders, with all related implements used for grounds care and snow removal. Ability to layout and mark game fields and tracks for scheduled athletic events.
