Job Summary:
In this role you will be joining a team where our software engineers and architects are developing and maintaining next-generation ground system and related software. Our complex domain requires creative solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
We are seeking software engineering professionals to work onsite in Aurora, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop sophisticated backend server-side Java applications in a Linux environment, leveraging Agile methodologies for state-of-the-art satellite ground systems, including space network ground segments, and global user interfaces.
Play a pivotal role in the operational success of new advanced satellites focused on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for diverse clients.
Engage in the entire software lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Utilize and enhance your skills in Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization Tools, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks to support advanced spacecraft missions.
Collaborate in a modern DevSecOps environment, employing Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software solutions efficiently.
Work onsite in a SCIF. Flexible work schedules available to include 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10 in Aurora, CO.
The ability to obtain and maintain a SCI U.S. security clearance
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of and 2 years of software engineering experience.
Experience using Java or C+
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of Software Engineering processes and best practices.
Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design
Experience with Agile development
Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud
Experience with microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development
Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
