The Mainframe System Services organization plays a pivotal role in supporting this initiative by overseeing the database technology strategy, deployment, monitoring, and operations of GM databases. 　　Key Responsibilities:

　　Understand, apply, and adhere to Database Management Standards & Practices. Grasp and apply Data Management concepts & practices, Logical Data Models, and Database Standards. Collaborate with senior Database Administrator or Architect. Contribute to the ongoing operations of the Database Services ecosystem. Conduct peer review and possibly mentor other candidates.

　　Training Program:

　　Classroom and on-the-job training on Z/OS Mainframe. Classroom and on-the-job training in IMS & Db2 and other Mainframe tools. Hands-on training and work experience in real-world Enterprise environments. Collaboration with multi-functional Innovation teams

　　Technologies Focus:

　　IBM z Mainframe, JCL, IMS, DB2, IIDR, DVM, z/OS, ADO and DevOps.

　　Program Highlights:

　　Join multi-functional Innovation teams to gain hands-on experience in a large Mainframe distributed environment. Collaborate with diverse business units across General Motors.

　　Hybrid:

　　Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an minimum of three (3) days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) each week for collaboration sessions.

　　Qualifications and Skills:

　　3rd level Degree qualification in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or Mathematics, or a Postgraduate Conversion Qualification in Computer Science/IT with another degree. Applicants without extensive educational qualifications are welcome with a proven track record in software-focused IT work. Proven interest in Information technology and problem-solving. Some exposure to IBM mainframe technologies is beneficial. Ideal for IT professionals returning to the workforce or those with significant software-focused IT work experience.
