JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The Department of Development andAlumni Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seekingapplicants for a Gift Officer. The Gift Officer identifies andcultivates relationships with donor prospects at the major gift level,develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaborativelywith other Development and Alumni Engagement staff to meet predefinedgift contribution goals. This professional will manage a portfolio ofmajor gift donors (\$25,000+) to raise funds for strategic fundraisingpriorities for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. This is afull-time, and eligible position with frequent travel locally andnationally. Starting salary for this role is \$50,000 per year,commensurate with skills and experience. Responsibilities Manage anongoing portfolio of major gift prospects and creates a strategy foreach stage of the donor lifecycle. Conduct personal visits each yearwith major gift prospects (\$25,000+) for the purposes of prospectidentification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Develop andexecute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure major gifts fromindividual donors, alumni, philanthropic organizations and corporations.Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals,ensuring meaningful engagement and alignment with the university\'spriorities. Identify, research, and prioritize prospective major giftdonors to build a robust pipeline of potential supporters. Solicitplanned gifts from prospects, demonstrating a sound understanding ofdifferent planned giving vehicles. Create personalized cultivation plansfor key donors, fostering long-term relationships and engagement withthe university\'s programs and initiatives. Collaborate with universityleadership, academic departments, and program directors to understandfunding priorities and articulate compelling cases for support. Workclosely with the advancement team to coordinate fundraising efforts,ensuring alignment with broader institutional goals.
