This short-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Major responsibilities
Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
Filing documents to maintain historical records
Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time
Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing
Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required
Previous experience with payroll preferred
Experience with bank reconciliations
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
Demonstrated knowledge of Sage MAS 90
Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
Highly organized and self-motivated
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Quickbooks and Peachtree experience desired2+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
