  The Fire Extinguisher Service Technician is responsible for the service and sales of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire hoses, kitchen fire systems, and any related Life Safety items deemed applicable. The technician acts as a liaison between the customers and the company by providing exceptional customer service. This position interfaces with customers, our Customer Service Department, and shop technicians at the department manager's direction.

  From $17 an hour

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Complete scheduled work as assigned in the shop or at customer facilitiesOperate, test and recharge fire-fighting equipmentMaintain test and recharge equipment in good working conditionPrepare and review invoices and recommendations with customersIdentify and resolve customer complaintsPerform semi-annual kitchen suppression system inspectionsPerform exit and emergency light inspection/repairProvide fire extinguisher training for customersAttend departmental, planning and company meetingsMaintain a driving record that is in good standingQualifications

  High School diploma or equivalentAcceptable driving record (last 3 years)Sales and customer service experienceScheduling and routing experienceExperience working with hand toolsComputer knowledgeAbility to lift 75+ lbs.Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hoursAbility to work on a ladderPreferred Skills:

  Mechanical aptitudeProblem solving abilityHighly organized and detail orientedMust be a team playerGoals:

  Must meet service time standard goalsMust obtain NAFED/ICC certificationWork Environment:

  Work offsite at customer facilities may be clean/unclean conditions, hot/cold conditionsWork in the company shop when directed, full or partial daysUse of company vehicleWork may include a lot of walking and climbing laddersWork may be outdoorsMust wear steel-toed shoesScheduling requirements of this position:

  Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, overtime may be requiredPrimary window of availability from 6:00AM 4:00PM. Shop work will generally occur from 6:30AM to 3:00PMCommunicate availability of early morning, evenings, or overnight with manager in weekly or 2-week periods- Services will be based mostly in the South Hills and in the Monroeville/Greensburg Area -
