This work order is forqualified people with 2 months prior experience performing agriculturalwork and working in a commercial scale maple sugaring operation andperform a variety of orchard work including harvesting and packingapples at an apple orchard. Workers must be willing to work in coldweather as low as 15 degrees and work on snow covered ground up to 1foot. Workers will use precision tree-sap tapping equipment, operateagricultural equipment to include tractor with loader and rear mountedattachments, pick-up truck; and chainsaw. This position involvesprecision coring of \"tap-holes\" in trees; precision insertion andsetting of spouts; crimping, cutting, and connecting food-grade flexiblepvc tubing; and installation and repairing of various diameterfood-grade flexible pvc pipe/tubing (up to 2\').Work requires longperiods of standing, bending and kneeling. Workers must be able to liftand carry up to 50 pounds and be available to work Monday throughFriday. Packing line work includes, but is not limited to: sortingapples according to size, color and grade; lining boxes, cartons orcrates with treated paper or cardboard, placing apples in containers forstorage and/or shipment; weighing, branding, and stamping grade and datepacked on container; packing apples according to quality standards andmethod of employer; and moving, lifting and carrying boxes up to 50pounds. Workers must be able to perform general orchard work and plant,prune, water and train trees. Workers must be able to handle and climb a20 foot ladder repetitively while carrying a picking bucket which isharnessed over the workers shoulders. The employer will provide 1 daysof training and allow 2 days of work for the worker to satisfactorilyperform all duties in this job order. Employer will furnish to workerswithout cost all tools and equipment required to perform dutiesassigned. Worker will be given 30 minutes for lunch. Beginning andending times will vary depending on the conditions in the orchard.Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.
Employer will not provide meals. Workers will purchase and prepare foodin the employer\'s provided and fully equipped kitchen free of charge.Employer will provide transportation in a six (6) passengers seater GMCSierra 3500 pickup truck once a week as needed at no cost to the workerto take care of personal errands, such as to the grocery store topurchase food, Moneygram, Western Union, and any other incidentals.
The employer will reimburse the H-2A worker in the first workweek forall visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees,including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2A worker.If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer willreimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the placeof recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the workcontract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provideor pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation andsubsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed towork, except where the worker will not return due to subsequentemployment with another employer. The amount of transportation paymentor reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonablecommon carrier for the distance involved. At the port of entry, theworkers will be provided at no cost ground transportation by commoncarrier to place of employment. And such transportation will be providedto the worker on their return trip to their country of origin. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of \$15.46 per day during travelto a maximum of \$59.00 per day with receipts.
