This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Your responsibilities in this role
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Requirements - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Adeptness in Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Month-end Journal Entries experience
Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience
General familiarity with Hyperion Enterprise
Monthly Account Reconciliation experience
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Practical knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Closings
Month-end Close Activities experience
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
