Manually plant, cultivate, and harvestcrops. Transplant, weed, thin and/or prune crops. Clean, pack and loadharvested products. Construct trellises, repair fences and assist withmaintenance of farm structures. Participate in irrigation activities,such as the setup and operation of irrigation equipment, clear andmaintain irrigation ditches, and install water lines to sheds, barns,and other farm structures. Operate tractors, balers, swathes and otherfarm machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize the soil. Apply pesticides,herbicides or fertilizers. Workers may also be assigned additionalagricultural duties, such as ditching, mowing, cutting, picking, baling,hoeing, shoveling, ground preparation, mechanized fieldwork, feeding oflivestock and other tasks relating to the employer\'s farming business.Driver licenses are not required for driving farm vehicles. The employerwill provide all tools and equipment necessary to perform all requiredtasks at no cost to employees. Work is performed outdoors and caninvolve exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, bright sunlight,cloudy, windy or rainy conditions, mud and dust, low light and othernatural elements. The work may entail exposure to plant pollens,insects, snakes, rodents, noxious plants and/or plant materials thathave been treated with insect and/or disease control spray. Workers mustwalk in variable soil conditions. Workers should come prepared withappropriate clothing and footwear for the working conditions described.Workers must use all required personal protective clothing andequipment. Position requires employees to interface and maintaineffective relationships with all level of employees in a team-orientedenvironment, and the ability to frequently lift and move heavy objects.Workers must adhere to all health and safety rules and observe allwarning signs, safety bulletins, safety training, posters and othersafety directives required by the employer or state law.
