We invite you to join the multidisciplinary faculty of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine, University of Utah. We are seeking a board-certified family physician for the position of Family Medicine Physician Clinical Faculty. You will be joining a strong family medicine faculty group and have opportunities for teaching family medicine residents, medical students, and other health science trainees.
The clinical practice will be at the Neurobehavior HOME program which is a coordinated health care model and center of excellence for meeting the medical and mental health needs of people with developmental disabilities. The team works together to address the medical and mental health issues faced by people with developmental disabilities. Many of the patients have impairments in their intellectual and/or social functioning which is a result of other developmental problems such as genetic disorders, birth trauma, autism spectrum disorder and brain injuries.
Qualifications1. Board certification by The American Board of Family Medicine
2. Unrestricted Utah state medical license
3. Experience in clinical medicine, teaching and scholarship is preferred.
Responsibilities· 0.80 FTE – Clinical care
· 0.10 FTE – Clinical Education/Precepting Family Medicine Residents
· 0.10 FTE – Scholarship and Education
o Scholarly projects
o Teaching in didactic and small group formats
o Mentorship and evaluation of residents
· 1.0 FTE total
