JOB REQUIREMENTS: Child Life Specialist - 28883DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 1.0FTE day shift position. Monday Friday, with a weekend and holidayrotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of thedepartment. We are seeking a Child Life Specialist to: * Provideevidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions includingtherapeutic play, preparation, and education to reduce fear, anxiety andpain. * Prepare patients and families for upcoming admission, procedureor surgery utilizing developmentally supportive teaching tools andresources. * Provide introduction to hospital or healthcare environmentand discuss what to expect during stays, making the environmentchild-friendly and unique to each child\'s needs. * Encourageopportunities for play and self-expression in order to help patients ofall ages and their siblings cope with the hospital or medicalexperiences. Paid clinicalexperience.
