　　Description

　　Responsible to maintain the cleanliness of PVSC buildings by performing a variety of routine cleaning and custodial maintenance duties in addition to performing a variety of manual and unskilled labor in connection with light equipment operations, landscaping and snow removal.

　　Minimum Requirements

　　Education: High School or Vocational School Diploma is required.

　　Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in basic janitorial service or general landscaping. Experience with light motorized equipment preferred.

　　Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position and carry out oral and written instructions. Must be able to learn the key elements of housekeeping that are critical in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Must have knowledge of the safety precautions that are required while operating equipment. Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License.

　　Must be available for emergencies and job assignments on a 24-hour basis. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in compliance with PVSC’s Facial Hair Grooming Policy.

　　Physical Demands: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others is maintained. To perform the essential function of this position the employee must be able to: sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., carry, reach, push, pull, use a keyboard, minor use of tools, manual dexterity, work in confined spaces, visual acuity, hearing and speaking.

　　Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
