What you'll do
Reporting to the Senior Supplier Relationship Manager, you will lead the embedding, scaling and the continual development of the Strategic Supplier Engagement programme, cultivating productive and sustainable relationships with key suppliers to position National Grid as a 'Client of choice'. You will also serve as the primary contact for strategic suppliers, fostering discussions on joint innovation and supporting initiatives for value-driven outcomes.
* Strategic Supplier Engagement - Develop and execute the strategic supplier engagement programme, establishing a cohesive framework of best practice whilst ensuring alignment across operational and business unit supplier engagement.
* Long-term strategic planning - Develop a supplier strategy aligned with National Grid and suppliers' long-term ambitions, incorporating, and leveraging industry insights and category strategy objectives.
* Stakeholder management and collaboration - Establish and maintain proactive relationships with strategic suppliers and prioritise delivery of collaborative partnership initiatives, managing progress through 'working groups'.
* Procurement advisor - Become a trusted advisor by understanding business needs and objectives and sharing best practice for structured supplier engagement.

What we're looking for
We're looking for people who can demonstrate;
* Creativity and strategic thinking and understands the importance of building effective and mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships with key supplier's.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate dynamically and network at all levels including senior leaders internally and third-party organisations.
* Sound experience of developing, managing and operating supplier relationship management programmes.
* Proven experience with influencing, negotiating and delivering procurement value.
* Degree level and CIPS qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Annual Salary
NYC: $128,000-$151,000
MA: $119,000-$140,000
SYR: $107,000-$126,000
Salary commensurate with experience and location.
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
