  Job Summary and Description:

  Micron is looking for experienced mechanical engineers to be part of the design, construction, commissioning, and sustaining operations for our new innovative high volume manufacturing Fab and existing technology development fab in Boise, ID. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment, with parallel subject areas, to analyze operational efficiency activities, identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. Will be the authority and system owner on a variety of systems including typical Semiconductor Facilities Mechanical systems such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, pumping systems, and general HVAC. This position works directly with the operations team and technicians monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA, ensuring they are running within specifications. This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer must have the pertinent people skills that enable the coordination with other system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks.

  Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning of Mechanical systems including:

  Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

  Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.

  Validation of engineering calculations

  Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff

  Review and validation of construction RFI responses

  Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models

  Field engineering QA during construction

  Commissioning support

  Entry of system information into a capacity planning software

  Qualifications:

  Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills

  Proven ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner

  Proven ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectively

  Proven skills in working effectively with team members from different subject areas

  Demonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams

  Demonstrated critical thinking skills

  Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  Demonstrated ability to be diligent, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal supervision

  Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency

  Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to solve complex problems and address root causes

  Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different subject areas

  Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences

  Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies

  Demonstrated knowledge of utility metrics, utility costs, etc.

  Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and laws

  Proven ability to reduce costs associated with a process or area

  Education and Experience:

  Required: Minimum – Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience

  Required: Three or more years of relative experience

  Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering and/or your subject area specific Professional Engineer certification

  Preferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing
