* Maintains tools, equipment and supplies and reports any shortages ininventory immediately to the Facilities Manager.
* Assists with grounds upkeep and snow removal.
* Is continuously productive, seeking out additional tasks during anyslow times.
* Follows all safety procedures related to the task at hand and reportsany safety concerns immediately to a supervisor.
* Inspects facilities on a regular basis to maintain a consistentworkload and to ensure facility safety.
* Completes routine preventative maintenance tasks as assigned byFacilities Manager or Maintenance Lead.
* Undertakes major remodeling projects as outlined by the facilitiesmanager.
Position Profile: The Maintenance Associate\'s duties change from day today. Certain tasks such as mowing and landscaping are necessary on anongoing basis. Other tasks come in as requests from program staff, whichmay included plumbing, electrical work or work on the physical structureof facilities. Maintenance staff also engage in major building andremodeling tasks from time to time. These projects will be laborintensive and require a variety of skills. In addition, programs attimes may move to a new facility, or staff even shift office spacerequiring moving assistance. The Maintenance Associate must be willingto take a great deal of direction from the Facilities Manager, and beflexible around schedules and duties. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High School educationpreferred; previous maintenance experience and/or specialized trainingin plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc. Skill Requirements:Ability to basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, yard care,etc; effective time management ; ability to work independently and in aproject team; ability to read and follow directions; ability to exercisesound judgment when using tools, equipment and chemicals. PhysicalRequirements: Must be able to read written instructions; must be able tocommunicate well in writing or speaking; ability to lift at least 50pounds; ability to stand and walk most of the working day; physical bodydexterity to allow for bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling,etc. when moving, lifting, or installing equipment, appliances,furniture; ability to work in various temperatures and seasonalcondition; ability to transport self and equipment and tools to variousagency locations.
