About Facilities Assistant

  Established in 1928, the West Shore Country Club was envisioned as a place where friends could gather for social and recreational activities. Our variety of banquet settings can accommodate parties from a small business meeting to a grand wedding celebration. Our beautiful clubhouse and impeccably groomed grounds add to the aura of quiet sophistication that is the West Shore Country Club. 

  The Facilities Assistant reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible maintaining all building equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment, and maintenance/cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual who is a team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic

  *Job Responsibilities *

  At the direction or in the absence of the Director of Facilities, monitor and assist outside contractors doing work in or around the club.Maintain parking lots, racquet sports courts, swimming pools and other recreational areas.Ensure building maintenance and repairs are identified and completed in a timely manner.Seek out and repair cosmetic issues on a weekly basis and report the completion of projects to the Director of Facilities.Interior and exterior cleaning projects such as mopping, vacuuming, pressure washing, window cleaning, and sanitizing.Perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) required by Club's PM procedures.Install tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patch walls, and upkeep of brick pavers.  Maintain and make general repairs to plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliance, elevators, ventilation systems and building structures of the Club. Maintain the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers, and pool pumps.Report necessary parts to be ordered for repair work to the Director of Facilities.Assist with snow removal from walkways and common areas.Keep the workshop and boiler room areas safe, clean, and well lit. Ensure all refuse is properly removed from the Clubhouse and its premises. Attend staff and departmental meetings. Respond to emergencies as needed. Assist with preparation of special functions, parties, and tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and constructing display pieces. Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Facilities.  *Work Environment and Physical Requirements *

  Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditionsRegularly exposed to housekeeping or industrial cleaning chemicals or similarOccasionally exposed to wet and/or humid weather conditions; heights; cold; heat; electrical components; and vibrations Noise level: Moderate to LoudFrequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling Climbing ladders of all sizes regularly Frequent repetitive motions, walking, and standing for approximately 80% of the workday. Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Requirements

  Must be 18 years of age or olderMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust possess a High School Diploma or GED RequiredA diploma or certificate from a certified maintenance or trade school and prior experience in a hotel, resort, or club preferred.Must have basic working knowledge in areas of building maintenanceMust have positive attitude and strong work ethicMust be able to work independently and with others, follow directions, and make quick decisions
