　　Program Dates: July 10, 2024 - August 20, 2024

　　The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing an instructional program designed to maximize the academic progress and meet the individual needs of students with special needs enrolled.

　　TYPICAL DUTIES:

　　Establishes and implements instructional objectives and units of instruction designed to meet the need of the students enrolled. These must be consistent with the goals and objectives presented in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

　　Monitors and reports to the administration, parents, and CSE the individual progress of all students enrolled in the special education classes. This includes progress reports as well as achievement and diagnostic educational evaluations.

　　Participates in staffing and parent conferences.

　　Establishes and maintains communication with parents regarding their child's educational program and progress.

　　Direct the activities of program aides and volunteers in the classroom.

　　Participate in all meetings scheduled by the Special Education Supervisor.

　　Performs all classroom clerical duties such as attendance records and completion of forms as required by the program.

　　Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Special Education Supervisor.

　　Job Qualifications

　　NYS certification in Special Education. Prior experience working with students with special needs preferred.
