Job SummaryThe Project Estimator is responsible for estimating the detailed list ofmaterials, (lumber, siding, interior trim, and hardware) forpurchasing and production for new projects, according to architectural plansand engineered drawings.
Location:position will start out in-office with possibility of transitioningto some remote days
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides a detailed list of material estimates from drawings for purchasingand field constructionEstimates and submits proposals for approvalAssists coordinating the project at various stages with shipping lists,field support take offs, and constructionCommunicates effectively with all organizational levelsProvides problem-solving solutions using Building Codes and productinformationAssist other estimatorsWorks with estimating & Project Management to complete assignments in atimely mannerCompile legible quotes for submission to clientPerforms other duties as required
Qualifications
KnowledgeMulti-family / Commercial estimating experience preferredProficiency in hand done material take-offsWorking knowledge and experience using Planswift or excel preferredWorking knowledge and experience reading architectural and engineered drawingsconstruction experience with hands on framing experience preferred
Skills and abilitiesProficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing andspeakingExcellent written skillsAbility to read and understand construction drawingsAbility to read, understand and interpret building codesStrong math skills including algebra and geometryStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong Organizational SkillsAbility to use a computer terminalAbility to learn estimating softwareAbility to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the publicAbility to communicate effectively with others, including customers,builders, peers, and managementAbility to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize andprioritize work, to meet deadlines, and work under little supervisionDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and ability tolearn estimating softwareAbility to perform duties independently, while also functioning as part ofthe overall teamAbility to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, be mobile in thework environment, and work hours mandated by managementAbility to pass a drug test
Compensation & Benefit Information:Hourly Pay Range: $25+/ per hour
Bonus/Incentive PayDiscretionary quarterly and annual bonus based on Company and business unitperformance may also be provided.
