ESG Data Management Analyst

Role Purpose
This role is to support the Investor ESG Consultancy team within our UK Advisory Services business. The UK Advisory Service provides expert advice and services to clients in relation to Advisory and Transactions (portfolio strategy and asset management), Capital Markets (raising and distributing funding), Property Management (managing their properties day to day) and Valuations (growing the value of their property investment).
This Investor ESG Consultancy supports occupier (aka tenant) engagement and utility data collection on behalf of its investment management clients. This includes engaging with corporate sustainability teams and utilising proptech solutions to collect data from the long tail of smaller tenants. The individual in this role support data collection from corporate sustainability teams and assist the management of proptech led data collection. They will interface with the ESG Data Analytics team in Warsaw to support data validation and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively collect utility data from corporate sustainability teams, screen received data for anomalies and ensure received data is correctly transformed into our approved templates.
• Assist in the management of our proptech led data collection processes, coordinating with third party suppliers and colleagues in the Investor ESG Consultancy team.
• Facilitate the Zero Emission Building audits to support client Net Zero targets as well as third-party data assurance process for client external ESG reporting.
• Assist in implementation of an improvement programme to optimise existing processes and the development of the occupier data collection strategy for the Investor ESG Consultancy team.
Reporting Lines
This role will sit within the Investor ESG Consultancy Team, reporting to the Programme Director.
Person Specification/Requirements
• Attention to detail while working with data.
• Analytical skills. Being able to understand the data and spot anomalies.
• Understanding of non-financial utility data and data sources (e.g. data bureaus, AMRs and half hourly and non-half hourly data) and awareness of Net Zero, ESG, GHG Protocol (Scope 1,2,3).
• Strong communication skills. Ability to obtain necessary information from different stakeholders.
• Ability to build strong, professional relationship with peers and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
• An ability to work remotely and independently as well as part of a wider team and community.
Skills / Experience Required
• Minimum B2 English in speaking and writing is a must, C1 or C2 is preferred.
• Excellent skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Python or R) or database (SQL) is a plus.
• Familiarity with non-financial utility data management is a must. Two to three years’ experience within occupier Energy & Sustainability, utility data bureau or corporate energy management is desirable.
• Proven analytical knowledge. The ability to present data in an effective way. Knowledge of visualisation tool is a plus.
• Passion for Sustainability.
• Ability to consistently deliver on deadlines with autonomy.
• Curiosity about data and impact of information handling.
• Ability to provide efficient, timely and reliable service to stakeholders.
• Experience managing client relationships within the property industry.
