Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Provides regular status reports to management as required
Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Participates in customer discussion offering suggestions and recommendations
Maintains a positive image when dealing with deadlines and demanding, highly stressful situations
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Ensures department documentation is at current levels
Adheres to policies, procedures, standards and methodology pertaining to Governance, Change Management, Project Management, Incident Management, System Access and Security
Maintains certification in applicable Epic module(s)
Maintains awareness and expertise as the Epic system architecture is changed over time to include but not limited to upgrade and special update documentation
Analyzes Level 1 and 2 customer-reported problems to determine corrective action and provides timely feedback
Preforms application and integrated testing for the assigned module(s)
Participates in discovery sessions to identify the operational needs of the organization
Work with all IT and Empower teams to identify appropriate solutions for various operational and technical needs
Identifies the most appropriate methods for build
Performs validation testing with end users to gain operational acceptance and feedback to new build components/optimization projects
Works independently in all areas of assigned application
Builds and maintains Reporting Workbench reports
Understands and can analyze ancillary Epic workflows
Supports integration with 3rd party applications, when applicable
Required Skills/Abilities
Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in healthcare required
Master's degree is desirable
Minimum of 4 years of related experience in a hospital and/or hospital-based clinic environment is helpful
Applicable Epic certification must be current or obtained within 9 months of employment
A minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in the build, training, and support of the Epic Systems electronic health record suite is required
