Alpha Testing, LLC (ALPHA) has an opening in our Dallas Office Environmental Department for an Environmental Scientist. As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for overall project management of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, which may include various types of properties such as undeveloped land, agricultural, residential, multi-family, retail, and commercial/industrial. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for evaluating historical and regulatory sources, conducting site reconnaissance, owner representative interviews, subcontractor tasks, and compiling written reports for submittal to clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts Phase I Environmental Site Assessment projects in general accordance with ASTM E 1527-21 standards
Reviews and assesses site plans/surveys, maps, geologic data and hydrological characteristics, aerial photographs, topographic maps, city directories, other historical information, prior reports, analytical data, regulatory agency information
Meets project budgets and schedules
Ensures that project deliverables meet quality standards and that project outcomes meet the client’s expectations
Solves problems effectively as they arise during the project lifecycle
Answers client questions and assists them promptly
Organizes client-provided documents and files for tracking and operations purposes
Communicates with clients and owner representatives
Schedules project site visits and other necessary field work
Operates a computer proficiently
Handles special client requests regarding specific report format and billing requirements
Follows safety procedures
Completes other duties as may be assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or a similar major
Highly organized and able to multi-task
Self-driven and dynamic in a team environment
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients
Ability to function in a high-stress environment
Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in project management, consulting, or similar
Previous experience in an A/E/C firm
Proficient with LightBox EDR / PARCEL
Understanding of the ASTM E 1527-21 Standard
40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training and certification
