The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking a Sr. Employment Mentor to join our team! You will be responsible for provision of employment supports to people with disabilities such as: evaluations, assessments, and counseling as needed to assist people we support identify and meet their vocational goals. You are also responsible for assisting with production demands including visiting off sites and heading structured rehabilitation. May include, but not limited to, providing job skill training and shadowing as well as classroom-based instruction focusing on vocational preparation.
Responsibilities:
Complete rehabilitation assessments and evaluations to assess people with varying disabilities to develop and implement an employment plan which will include strategies to overcome barriers to employment.
Complete employment, vocational, and pre-vocational plans on a semi-annual basis at LifePlan meetings.
Perform job development/retention activities as necessary to include, but not limited to, job readiness skills training and work/life skills training.
Facilitate structured rehabilitation (SRA).
Must be able to provide and/or arrange transportation for people we support as needed, as well as travel training for independence.
Teach people we support how to access community supports. May include classroom-based instruction.
Complete all necessary paperwork on time and other documents as requested by Agency administration.
Qualifications:
Valid NYS Drivers license and must have a working vehicle and agree to transport individuals, as needed to work-sites.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from an accredited institution of higher learning and a minimum of two (2) years experience working with people with disabilities (Or)
Associates Degree in Human Services from an accredited institution of higher learning including three (3) years experience working with people with disabilities.
