OverviewOur New Bern, NC location is growing and we need several Industrial Services Technicians! This position is responsible for the treatment process with our company Waste-Water Management, Industrial Cleaning, and Emergency, and Natural Disaster Response.
Responsibilities
This position will perform operations for waste collection, containerization, management and associated functions. In addition, will perform general manual labor tasks associated with HAZWOPER and industrial/commercial waste management operations.
Identify, remove, pack, transport, or dispose of hazardous materials contaminated soilHandling of hazardous materials possibly in confined spacesMay operate earth-moving equipment or trucksMust be adaptable and hands-on with the workflowMust have the ability to wear a tight-fitting, negative-pressure respirator and occlusive chemical protective clothing.Requires working on uneven work surfaces frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights including bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling drums, totes, and containers, and handling of tank truck hoses.May use hand manual and power hand tools hand shovel with exposure to noise and vibration.Periodic to frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals with designated personal protective equipment.Exposure to elements including heat and cold stress and nuisance dust conditions and woodland, stream-side, and swampland flora and fauna.Perform a wide variety of manual labor tasks associated with HAZWOPER and industrial and commercial waste management operationsPractice Companies and OSHA safety rules and regulationsQualificationsFlexibility with overtimeMay be required to work some weekendsTeam OrientedClear Valid drivers licenseApplicant must pass pre-employment requirements: Physical including drug and alcohol screening, background checkFrequently lift 40-50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 poundsPeriodic to frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals with designated personal protective equipmentMust be willing and able to work 7 days a week, for consecutive weeks, depending on department needs.Must be willing and able to work 50 - 60 hours, or more, per week based on department needs.Our Benefits:
