Applications Administrator – Direct Hire opportunity!
REMOTE: MUST be within 1 hour commute of Harrisburg or State College, PA
SUMMARY:
The Applications Administrator will manage and optimize our organization’s diverse portfolio of applications. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our software systems, contributing to overall efficiency and productivity. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting issues within the software environment, forecasting and planning for application capacity and demand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and maintain applications to support business operations.
Collaborate with internal business divisions and vendor(s) to support the following activities:
Deploy regular patches/upgrades.
Licensing compliance
Monitor application performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
Testing and governance
Develop a strong understanding of business needs and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies.
Optimize system configurations to enhance application speed and efficiency.
Provide technical support to end-users, addressing application-related queries and issues.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure users can maximize the potential of applications.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect applications and sensitive data.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, troubleshooting, procedures, and user guides.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience as an Applications Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of application deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
Basic knowledge of SQL
Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Criminal background check required for hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:
Basic DBA skills
Experience with Davisware/Sage 300
Familiarity with QlikView/SSRS reporting tools.
