About Multiskilled Technician III

  Amentum is seeking a Multiskilled Technician III to join our team in Corinth, MS!

  Typical work schedule is, 7pm – 7am.; hours may vary based on business demand. Rotating Shift 2/2/3.

  Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

  The Multiskilled Technician is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, fleet repairs, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting and plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g. Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal).

  Responsibilities:

  Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.

  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem, and recommends appropriate solution.

  Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.

  Leads and directs by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work.

  Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

  Coordinates work with outside contractors.

  Assures code and building standards are met.

  Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.

  Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.

  Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.

  Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc).

  Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.

  Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.

  Operates, maintains, and repairs all facility and production associated equipment in compliance with all company regulations and standards.

  Must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.

  Analyzes equipment failures, inspects, replaces, alters, and maintains in good repair all building and production services and related equipment.

  Performs planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for specific area while being sensitive and responsive to customer needs.

  Performs trouble-shooting techniques on mechanical equipment such as CNC machine tools, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, compressed air and other gas equipment and distribution systems to determine problems and effect repairs as promptly and efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.

  Performs preventative maintenance inspections, sump clean out, lubrication, adjustments, and alignments.

  Develops and implements planned maintenance procedures, performs job estimates, maintains spare parts inventory. Keeps stock persons informed as to parts consumed from inventory.

  Assists in installing, inspecting new equipment and servicing installations.

  Provides support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers as necessary to support project and renovation work.

  Complies with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.

  Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

  Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

  Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

  Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.

  Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

  General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.

  Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

  Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.

  Minimum Requirements:

  High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  Three years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Paint line maintenance and repair, Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.

  Additional Information:

  Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

  This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

  This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

  Physical Requirements:

  Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

  Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

  Special Requirements:

  Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Associate’s degree or trade school certification in Industrial Mechanical, HVAC, or a related field.

  Experience with paint line.

  Experience working safely with 480 volt 3 phase electrical systems.

  Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial facility mechanical equipment, including vacuum systems and RO/DI water systems.

  Experience troubleshooting and repairing large commercial or industrial HVAC/R equipment.

  Experience maintaining basic plumbing needs.

  Working knowledge of all types and kinds of hand and power tools, air measuring instruments, various refrigeration equipment, various electrical meters, meggers, and shop equipment.

  Experience working in a CMMS environment.

  Other Attributes:
