Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in Charlotte, NC .
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to learn and expand skills.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts technical writing and/or program analysis under the supervision of an experienced subject matter expert or project manager.
Learn how to incorporate/embed sustainability initiatives into technical projects.
Support watershed and water quality assessments and conventional aspects of watershed planning and BMP prioritization.
Provide technical support in the areas of environmental and stormwater management research, field work, stormwater analysis, and stormwater monitoring.
Evaluate stormwater programs and project costs.
Prepare written and graphic reports and make presentations.
Prepare scientific documents regarding stormwater, water quality, watershed management, and best management practices.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Geoscience, or other related field.
Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior client/customer relations experience.
Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
Relevant professional work or internship experience.
OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite software applications.
Strong research and report writing skills.
Desire to develop expertise in sustainability initiatives.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (North Carolina locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $49,000 - $65,000.
