Engineering Technician
Curtiss-Wright are looking an Engineering Technician to join our growing group at our state-of-the-art facility by Bournemouth Airport. As Engineering Technician, you will be working within a dedicated project team in the creation, development, test and approval of high-volume safety-critical embedded systems for the Industrial and Mobility vehicle markets. You will be committed in helping the business continue to deliver world leading products to our customers.

Your Challenge:
Assembly of prototype hardware
Testing and fault finding down to component level
Trialing and functional testing of safety critical prototypes as part of the project release into production
Hardware and software functional testing against defined requirements
Documentation of test results to subsequent form part of product approvals.
Report writing
Maintaining equipment (including battery operated vehicles)
Providing status reports, supporting engineers and attend meetings as required
Your Expertise:
Qualified to HNC/HND level in an Electrical Engineering discipline ideally or similar field or equivalent experience
Understanding and making use of schematics, technical drawings, computer generated reports, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
Utilization of in-house computer software in producing prototype circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, assemblies etc from Project Engineers' original designs
Understanding and making use of Oscilloscopes, multi-meters, data loggers, waveform generators to help complete objectives
Ability to write clear and concise test reports making use of data from associated Engineering equipment where necessary.

These include medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses and motor coaches, construction and agricultural vehicles, materials handling, and other specialty vehicles, as well as sophisticated wheelchairs and scooters for medical mobility.
We develop and manufacture electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We also supply operator controls and advanced motor controllers for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as buses, forklift trucks, pallet stackers, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation chairs.
