JOB REQUIREMENTS: Answers EMS calls calmly, efficiently and promptlyComplies with state regulations and services guidelines and polices.Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills. Operateambulance with due regard for the ambulance crew and other drivers onthe road. Communicates clearly with co-workers, first responders,bystanders, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to assessemergency scenes. Ability to identify scene safety issues, implement,adjust, and maintain scene safety as situations change. Handlenon-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting thevaluables of a patient if necessary. Operate EMS vehicles under normaland emergency conditions in a safe manner. Operate standard equipmentsuch as stretchers. Maintain the interior and exterior of departmentvehicles. This includes, but is not limited to, restocking and cleaningthe exterior and interior of ambulances as well as general cleaning andupkeep of ambulances and supply areas as needed. Perform CPR forextended periods of time. Be able to remain calm and deliver qualitycare in high-pressure, extreme stress, situations. Maintain goodphysical condition and personal hygiene. Ability to lift 150 pounds withassistance. Perform appropriate clean up and disposal of contaminateditems when necessary. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.Assist in public relations and recruiting of new personnel.
