  Job Description:

  L3Harris Technologies, Space and Airborne Segment, Space business area is seeking an exceptionally motivated, proactive individual to support the Procurement function. This role requires an eye for detail, accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven track record for taking the initiative, delivering exceptional results, and exceeding expectations.

  Our teams are typically comprised of these five (5) commodities and are looking for candidates that have the experience and possess the potential to develop in these areas:

  Cables and Wire: Includes but is not limited to fiber optic cables, cable harnesses, multi-conductor cables, overmolded cables, RF flex cables, semi-rigid cables, semi-flex cables, ribbon cables, power codes and raw wire.

  Contract Manufacturing: Suppliers that market themselves as providing 'electronic manufacturing services' (EMS suppliers). Most EMS providers have the capability to produce printed circuit board assemblies (also known as circuit card assemblies), cables and electromechanical box builds.

  Electronic Components: Are the device or entity within a system used to affect their associated field. Components within this category are procured either through distribution or direct with the manufacturer. This category includes but is not limited to actives, circuit protection, connectors, oscillators/crystals/filters, passives, Radio Frequency components and user interfaces.

  Metals and Fabrication: The building of mechanical structures by cutting, bending, and assembling processes. It is a value-added process that involves the creation of machines, parts, and structures from various raw materials.

  Printed Circuit Boards: Printed circuit board (PCB) forms the backbone of all major electronics, mechanically supporting and electronically connecting electronic components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. This category includes but is not limited to single and double-sided boards, multi-layer boards, rigid boards, flex boards, and rigid flex boards.

  The Procurement function is responsible for acquiring goods and services from suppliers, receiving the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right time, for the right value, from the right source to optimize business performance. In addition, this function's aim is to achieve substantial cost reductions, increase product development speed, and increase quality assurance by incorporating KPIs, strategic planning, supplier vetting, supplier relationship/performance management, category management, risk management, and Lean Practices.

  In this role, the procurement professional will manage the life-cycle of purchase orders from the initial source selection and acquisition strategy or onboarding and vetting of new suppliers, through the solicitation, negotiation, and answering supplier information requests, to awarding a purchase order, to facilitating supplier supports request, managing the cost and schedule of the purchase, which includes purchase order management/execution, delivery of goods, invoicing, payment, or return of materials issues, to finalizing the purchase order closeout processes.

  L3Harris covers a variety of customer segments including U.S. Federal Government, Other Governments, Defense and Aerospace, and Commercial, both international and domestic. This requires the procurement team to be compliant with all government and agency laws and regulations.

  Essential Functions:

  Works independently with medium to minimal guidance.

  Responsible for managing assigned commodity of moderate complexity, understanding supplier processes and capabilities, and may begin Design for Manufacturing (DFX - (product development) efforts based on technical ability.

  Must be able to communicate effectively with direct leadership and a wide array of professional levels, functions, and suppliers to support cross-functional requests and inquiries.

  Ensures all applicable program, company, compliance, engineering, quality, technical specifications, and other item-specific conformance criteria are clearly and adequately conveyed to suppliers and other functions to increase accountability for program performance.

  Experience using Request for Quote (RFQ) grading criteria, should cost analysis, and price analysis support for sole source and complex buys.

  Successfully able to negotiate best value, lead times, pay terms, milestones, and execute legal documents as required (i.e., Purchase Order/contractual, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Legal Agreements, Terms and Conditions etc.) to effectively align with the program execution structure and manage deliveries to meet or exceed performance requirements.

  Experience with reviewing Purchase Order (PO) Compliance packages, which includes, source justifications, commercial certifications, and price justifications along with other Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS) and Department of Defense (DOD), Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements.

  Develops action plans to increase supplier performance trends, mitigate supplier risks, and positively influence supplier relationships.

  Influences supplier metrics by monitoring and responding to internal cross-functional metric trends that indicate early risks of supply chain disruptions by managing, communicating, and resolving Supplier Support Requests (i.e., supplier deviation

  Advocates supplier relationship management practices, and enhances system processes including return to vendor, nonconformance request, supplier root cause corrective action requests, and supplier payments.

  Able to lead and manage all aspects of supplier communications, actions, and resolution of issues within a cross functional team.

  Manages work assignments to achieve operational targets and goals.

  Trains, coaches, and mentors peers. In Group Lead role, leads, directs, and reviews the work of direct report(s) to maintain workflow and productivity, and ensure weekly objectives are achieved. Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for own organization. Reports to Associate Manager or higher.

  Must be available for business travel (up to 10%).

  Qualifications:

  Typically, this position requires bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. A Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  Minimum 4 years of experience with MRP/ERP Software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.

  Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

  Preferred Additional Skills:

  Strong continuous improvement background or certificate in Lean Six Sigma, Data Analytics, APQP, ZDP, PPAP, 8-D Corrective Action Plans, Supplier Risk Management and Supplier Category Management familiarity.

  Excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.

  Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  Takes proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability .

  Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  Moderate knowledge and understanding of, FAR/DFARs through TINA and CAS thresholds, Prime and program flow down requirements, Quality Assurance Codes, and Trade Compliance Laws.

  Moderate knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain's influence on annual operating plan to include orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
