As part of our team, you'll lead the software verification efforts for the embedded software of a large-scale leading-edge defense program.
The software verification activities occur throughout the product development lifecycle, beginning with involvement in the development of software and interface requirement specifications and culminating in formal qualification testing of the product software. This work is performed in fast paced, iterative development cycles which support successive product deliveries with increasing functionality.
As a Software Test Lead you will:
Lead a small technical team to plan and execute the software verification activities, to include reviewing requirements specifications for testability, leveraging use cases in support of test case development, planning and executing improvements to the test environment and infrastructure.
Develop a comprehensive set of automated and manual tests, tracing tests to requirements to ensure complete test coverage.
Identify and diagnose software defects, verifying software correctness, and reporting results.
Manage software verification efforts to meet cost, quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
Develop test plans, procedures, descriptions, and reports for delivery to customer in accordance with DoD Data Item Descriptions (DIDs).
Ensure all Cybersecurity requirements are met within the software test domain.
Assess risk associated with the efforts you lead, and develop and execute risk mitigation plans.
Apply knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines, as well as in-depth knowledge of assigned product or technology area in guiding the direction of software test efforts.
Regularly prepare, present, and defend project technical results and recommendations to external customers and internal high-level management.
Guide the preparation of assigned proposals, including responsibility for technical and cost content in the area of software integration and test.
Maintain familiarity with industry practices, trends, and applications to enhance the organization s technical capabilities. Advise senior management on new developments, evolving organizational needs, and required technical competencies.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical degree.
Typically 8 years experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years experience with a Master's degree. We would consider someone with less experience for a more junior position.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to develop software test environments and test scripts to achieve automated test for embedded software
Experience authoring deliverable documentation associated with software testing
Experience using Configuration Management tools (such as git, Subversion, GitLab)
Experience using scripting languages (such as Bash/shell, Perl, Python, VBA, Yaml)
Exposure to multiple high level programming languages including C and C
Exposure to embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as vxWorks, LynxOS, Thread
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience using (ideally adapting or customizing) NI TestStand and/or NI LabView for development of automated test procedures
Systems and Software requirements analysis experience (including requirements writing, allocation, tracing, and spec generation)
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and associated open communication standards
Experience with development and/or test of safety critical code
Experience preparing software artifacts and presentation materials for a Test Readiness Review (TRR) with the customer on a DoD program
Hold a DoD-recognized Cybersecurity Certification such as Security , CSSLP, or CISSP
Active Secret Clearance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
