Job Summary
The Project / Systems Engineer is an interdisciplinary, technical role focused on matching customer needs to JADAK capabilities and delivering the appropriately designed product. The Project Engineer must work cross-functionally with Program Managers, Customers, Test, Manufacturing and Operations teams to solve technical problems and ensure on-time delivery. At JADAK the Project / System Engineer will be working at the frontier of embedded vision, Edge AI,RFID, and spectroradiometertechnology in medicaldevices,robotics, andscientific instrumentsfields.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensuring robust design and optimization of all technical aspects of standard and customized products.Collaborating with sub-system leaders and influencing technical direction to meet customer, and JADAK business requirements.Organizing and reporting status and action plans to team and management. Collaborating with technical and commercial teams todesign offerings, develop algorithms,and demonstrateworking product-intent solutions.Ensuring design process and documentation requirements are metContributing to continuous process improvement initiatives and driving best practices where needed.Supporting the ongoing development of technology / product roadmaps and the execution of those strategies as needed.
Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies
Bachelor's of Science or Engineering degree and3-5+ years oftechnical experienceinan Engineering Discipline (Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering preferred but not limited to those).Demonstrated experienceinthe creation and delivery ofproducts including embedded systems for imaging, vision systems or RFIDproducts.Experience in color science and/or optics is desirable, but not a minimum requirement. Exposure to SW development best practices and continuous performance improvement efforts.

Hands-on, technical problem solving mind-setStrongindividual and group problem-solvingskills.Cross-organizational communication and leadershipDetail-oriented with ability to summarize and communicate effectively internally and with customers.Ability to use an oscilloscope and other standard electronics lab equipment.Ability to understand / define testing approaches.Experience with optics simulation tools (Zemax or similar) (desirable, but not required)Basic understanding of Color Science and color image processing fundamentalsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel. Less than 10% of work time a year.
Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this position ranges from $85,846 per year to $118,037 per year depending on the geographic market.Dependent on the position offered, annual bonusses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.Novanta supports all aspects of your life's needs.
