Basic Job Function
Facilitate Gardening Workshops programs with school groups at the Edible Academy.
Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and actively helps to build and maintain an inclusive organizational culture throughout the institution.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Introduce school groups to plants, nature, and gardening through garden-based education activities at the Edible Academy.
Prepare program supplies and garden site for planned gardening and enrichment activities.
Assist with horticultural maintenance of the Green Thumb Gardens.
Assist with development of school group programming at the Edible Academy
Qualifications
Applicant should have knowledge of gardening, experience in teaching, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Applicant must be able to work with groups of children in an outdoor setting.
An outgoing personality and enthusiastic attitude are essential.
Must have the ability to lift and move heavy program materials.
Two years related experience is required.
Payrate: $20.50 - $23.50 Per Hour
